BRANDING, VISUAL IDENTITY, LOGO
 

MIESTO IS STUDENT’S CLUB WHICH GOAL IS TO OFFER SPACE FOR STUDENTS TO SPEND
THEIR FREE TIME AND ENJOY IT IN COMFORT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

 

This project of creating whole Corporate Identity was my Bachelor's thesis to finish my studies. I have chosen Miesto as company to create visual identity for, because it was project of my friend. It was my first time designing the whole visual system as it is with all the aspects. I have put a lot of effort and time in this matter and I have learned tons of valuable lessons and rules. I have conducted research about typography, colours, logotypes and whole impact of visuals on the business performance and image. It was extraordinary experience, with in my opinion not so bad results. Of course, when now I look back at this work, I can see many space to improve, especially after lot of experience I have gained since then. But I have to say that this pilot work was a good starting ground for my passion in branding.

The name “Miesto” means spot or place, which is speaking for itself. It is supposed to be safe space mainly for students and other youngsters, so they can meet with their friends and spend time together either fot studying or to have a good time. Its located in the building of student's dormitory so they basicaly can come to visit in their sleepers. They can find some beverages, food and small services. Also some small culutural events are going to take place here occasionally. Visual style was created to be friendly and to represent comfort and good home alike atmosphere.  Thats why the main element of the logo is armchair, which represents home, comfort and relax in combination with orange and brown colour palette it creates warm, friendly, accepting and reliable vibes. Typography with rounded edges represents funky and familiar ressamblence inviting to come and enjoy time in non-formal enviroment.

The main colour Orange is proven to make people hungry when being looked at, apart from that its a colours of friendship and creativity, which wehen students come to such a place needs the most. Brown colour on the other hand represents safety and confidence. FUN FACT: brown is also colour of coffe while orange stands for beer, the two most favorite drinks among students, which are our target group.
